Default New incapacitating condition: Dancing!

inpired by a recent cursed item in my game (The Harp of Delirious Dancing), and the thread on the knockdown affliction, I've decided to share this with the world:

New incapacitating condition
Dancing: The target starts dancing frenetically. Each turn, roll 1d and consult the scatter chart (B414). The afflicted must spend at least half his movement points moving in that direction. He may change facing, if he so wishes, and can attack at the end of the movement. This counts as a move and attack, apply the usual penalties. After each minute (or fraction), the dancer loses FP equal to his encumbrance level plus one. A roll against HT-based Dancing skill halves the FP loss (round up). While the effect persists, the victim is not affected by the effects of lost fatigue points (B426) except that each FP lost at 0 FP or less also causes 1 HP of injury, as usual. +150%

I loved the idea but dont see it functioning very well in the way that you put. I have at least one input. Change the fatigue lost to 1+encumbrance and why dont let the effects of lost FP apply?

Damn, it was supposed to be that 1+encumbrance. The effects of lost fatigue don't apply because it was modeled after the idea that you would die of exhaustion dancing, and the current rules for lost FP make it far more likely that you would simply fall unconscious.

Remember, it's the same price as paralysis, and you still get to attack with this (and should you carry thrown weapon, use them at an only slightly reduced effectivity).

Um... How can it be incapacitating if the target can volentarily change facings and attack it's own targets?

You can change facing, but you must still move in the direction the dice tell you. You can only attack at the END of the movement, and it's a move and attack, meaning that unless you allow Heroic Charge, it's not going to be a very effective attack, and if you allow it, your FP are going down at an alarming rate.

Interesting...of course, you might just build it as Seizure, +100%, Dances uncontrollably instead of shaking uncontrollably and falls down only at the end of the affliction, +0%.

I don't think you'd need to change the price because you are still helpless, you still take 1d FP at the end of the dance, and you still end up having fallen down, even though it happens at the end of the seizure instead of the beginning. Basically, you had a seizure standing up, and its was rather artistic, but for all practical purposes, it was still a seizure.

I hope this helps.
