There is a monster level 1 and a player level 7 no one is willing to boost the monster so he can beat it alone. Can he get help from another player?

You can only ask for help if you are losing the combat.
The rules say: Quote:

I'm afraid I dont understand. Why would the person want help with a monster they can clearly beat and possibly have to share treasure?

Because if the "helper" was an Elf, he would go up a level also, possibly for a shared win. Or split the treasure, or get a Fairy Dust card, or get rid of a curse's penalty (change sex comes to mind), or the bad stuff off a curse, (tourist trap).
That's why. Pat

Also, in a friendly game, when someone has been totally hosed by bad stuff or a curse and has no chance of winning a combat, it's nice to ask them to help even when you don't need it. We would do this occasionally in the days before I learned the correct rule.
