I sent my spare Heavy Gear book to RPK at least a year ago, so I don't have one to send you.

It's a great world and a lot of fun. You may see about getting the 2nd computer game by Activision, if you can find it. It was pretty awesome.

I don't think they have anything cool like BattleTech does with their little free universe book that you can download. I don't have full access to the web (I know a back door that lets me get to the SJGames fora) so I can't find anything.

I'll see what I can find for you, though.

I actually ran across some of the Heavy Gear cartoons (I refuse to call them anime) in Walmart recently.

The horror.

The horror.

I tried to warn you all. Avoid the cartoon like the plague.

Of course they're not anime. They were made in Canada, for a North American audience.

(Made by the same company that made ReBoot... I wonder what went wrong here?)

Okay, let's not start that again.

What went wrong is that Sony wanted a cartoon aimed at young children, not at teens/adults. And that's what Sony got.

It had nothing to do with Canada, other than they were unfortunate enough to be the ones with the stigma for making it. But, Heavy Gear itself is from Canada, so let's not be mad at them.

There's no reason to make a bad cartoon aimed at young children, though.

(Especially when they'd made Harriet the Spy a half-decade earlier.)

(looks at location information) What do you mean "them"?

If you find a source, please let me know. That one's been OOP for years...
