I use em'. It has been a habit of mine since my CCG playing days, and even so, some players hated sleeves (some sort of counter culture in the collectable card circle). My logic was always if they stay in great condition I could always trade/sell/barter/hawk/pawn/vend them later. The conundrum of what fits best on munchkin cards has been discussed in other posts, but if don't feel like looking: Yugioh sleeves fit as well as fantasy flight's Standard American Board Game Sleeves, I use the later of the two though some say it takes away some of the “random” aspects of the game.

I've been doing some research on sleeves, and have asked the very same question on this thread. Another thing: I would want sleeves not only to keep the cards in better condition, I would also want to cover up which core cards are from. I suspect two different cards through, one for doors and one from treasures. |

Have another question.
Are there any sleeves for the dungeon cards? Those are pretty big... (I went with the Mayday Games sleeves!) They have a promotion going. 25% off, so if anyone is interested.

Already asked and answered during one of the chats. Answer is: Maybe. Depends on the sleeves, but the boxes are designed to fit the cards as SJG specified, not all the sleeves out in the marketplace.

I use Yu-Gi-Oh sleeves with opaque backs. I use two different colors, one for treasures and one for doors. They cost nearly as much as the cards themselves, but I like the benefits.
1) In a blended set, don't have to worry about different card backs giving away hints as to what a card might be. 2) I can tape errata to cards, or tape an image of a whole new card on a blank card, and it still shuffles okay. 3) For the German cards that I have, I can write the translation on a slip of paper and place it inside the sleeve. 4) There's a wide variety of colors and styles. For Munchkin Booty, I have pirate-themed sleeves. 5) Easier to shuffle. 6) When playing with kids, I don't have to worry about sticky/gooey hands.

I have the box of holding, and they barely fit the cards themselves! I have both the Mayday and Fantasy Fight Sleeves. Pros. Mayday cards are thinner and can stack better. Mayday cards are smaller and sit flush with the top of the card (making it easier to some what put in the box of holding) FFS cards are thicker making them feel stronger. FFS cards are 5mm higher, thus allowing for "over hang" on the top of the card Cons. Mayday cards are thinner... bend easier, dont feel as strong Mayday cards are smaller, and the tops of the cards commonly take wear. FFS cards are taller, and cannot fit in any of the box of holding, unless on a 30o angle. |
