Well, I was trying to stick to the design parameters given by the USN in Brandon's reference. (Yes, I know I am creating my own roadblocks:). I could add afterburners, but they are not specifically mentioned. I also thought about treating the skis as hydrofoils, instead.

Mainly, I suspect it is a problem of weight. A different website on the USN project discusses a weight of 12,000-15,000 lbs. It was hard to keep the design that light.

One other thought was to drop "Submersible" from the body type. That would cut Body weight by 1/2 and reduce body size (also reducing weight). Since nearly all of the vehicle floods when submerged, does this vehicle quality as "Submersible" as described in the Vehicle system?
