Default Curse Question

Hello Fellow Munchkins!
I have a question about Curses!

When I kick open a door and the first card is face up, if it is a curse do I treat this the same as a monster encounter?
Example: I "Kick the Door Down" and turn over a curse card (face up). This curse of course is played on me immediately. After the curse is on me, do I continue with my turn as normal to the "Looking for Trouble" and "Searching the Room" stages? Or does it count like a monster encounter and force my turn to end?

You treat it as a Curse.
The rules say that if you Kick the Door and it is a Curse you are affected by it, then you proceed normally. You may Loot the Room or Look for Trouble.

And if you Kick the Door and it is a monster you do not end your turn after fighting. You can't Loot the Room or Look for Trouble, but you still may sell, play cards and have to make Charity if you have too many cards in your hand
