Let's say a level 7 Samurai kills, all by himself, a monster that is level 16 (and grants 2 level upon death). Gaining Face says: Go up an extra level when you kill, unaided, a monster whose Level is at least twice yours.
It doesn't say that it can be the winning level; but then again, you have to kill a monster to get the level from Gaining Face. So, can it be the winning level? Last edited by Enzzo; 08-20-2012 at 05:26 AM. Reason: realized most level 16+ monsters grant 2 levels upon death |

Yes. You need to kill a monster to get that level, and it doesn't say otherwise, so it can be the winning level.

That's what I thought; but on the other hand, the ability doesn't explicitly say that it can be the winning level. And I could see the opposite argument: though you had to kill a monster to trigger the ability, the extra level you gain is from the Class ability and not from killing the monster.
But yeah, I agree that you should be able to get the winning level that way, I just wanted to make sure. |
