Default Munchkin and Expansions

I just got original Munchkin and expansions 2 - 7. Is there any reason I wouldn't want to just fix them all together and leave them like that from now on (aside from the dungeon expansion because I'd want those doors to be in the top section of the mixed deck). Aside from that, any reason not to mix them and keep them all together whenever I play?

No, not at all, just put everything in.

If you want to get another M6 and just add the Portals, that works too and you don't have to be scavenging for them after each game....

Yeah, I have a deck which is Munchkin 1-8 with most of the boosters (not Marked for Death or Conan) and an extra set of Portals from a second Munchkin 6 thrown in, and I find Portals come up just about the right amount (and even too frequently on occasion).

really, just by doubling the portals with 7 other expansions they come up enough/too much? Hmm thats a good idea. Do you double up the dungeons or just 1 copy of each?

Right now my goal is figuring out how to make my own cards for these blanks. I'm reading through threads for pointers.

I'm missing two dungeon cards from my first Munchkin 6 set, so I leave those separate. Which was also one of the excuses that made buying that second Munchkin 6 justifiable.

Even if I had all 20 of the first set, I wouldn't mix them, though. Having the same dungeon in play twice wouldn't really affect things, so it would only make the duplicates redundant.

I also use only one of the Dungeon cards.

I use all the boosters as well, but I have two copies of Reloaded! for the extra Race and Class Enhancers and Reloaded Die. That works very well for me too.

That is a really big deck. It might be overwhelming to try to teach a new player with a deck that size.

Race and class cards would be few and far between, you only get one of each in the expansions so they are much more thinned out compared to playing just the base set.

The biggest issue would be the size of the deck - just a couple of expansions makes it overwhelmingly tall unless you are drawing directly from the boxes of holding or similar.

Well actually the ratio of race/class cards to door cards in say Munchkin 1-5 is pretty much the same as the base Munchkin, about one fifth*. Munchkin 1 has 21 Race/Class cards and 95 door cards (0.22). Munchkin 1-5 has 76 Race/Class cards and 365 Door cards (0.21). I didn't include Munchkin 6 because the cards it adds are essentially skipped; you draw another door to replace portals after you play them. I also omitted Munchkin 7 because I thought it was for combining completely different sets, like cthulhu... in SPACE!

*Based on the official card lists.

Just realised that I never considered the new races/classes added in the expansions, that probably makes up the difference - so you'd be less likely to get an Elf card but about the same chance of getting any race card.
