Epic Munchkin - Wight Brothers Bad Stuff?

The Wight Brothers card bad stuff lowers the player back to level 1. In Epic Munchkin, this seems too unfair & we decided instead to lower them to level 11. I was wondering what the OFFICIAL ruling on this is.

The official ruling is, play the card as it is written.
