Fit is an unusually ambiguous trait and the FAQ does not address this aspect of it. I have been assuming that, yes, it does help, but then someone argued that a marathon-runner bleeds just the same as a slob. What does the collective think and maybe even what does Kromm think?

I would say that it does what it says. The name and the part about cardiovascular health are nothing more than flavor text.

Fit adds to HT rolls, bleeding rolls are HT rolls.

Thanks, that's at least a vote of confidence in my ruling!

I've always interpreted it this way as well.

It doesn't effect HT-Based skill rolls (Sex Appeal, Hiking ect. and notably any skill "floated" to HT), Basic Move, FP, or any calculation based on HT (Temperature Tolerance, breath-holding times...).

I find this part the harder to swallow, as opposed to Fit having a positive impact on bleeding. It seems like Fit should affect Hiking and breath-holding time (though maybe not Sex Appeal? It is a measure of cardiovascular health, which may not affect appearance or carriage, I guess).
