Default Bill hooks

Hello everyone! here again fo more strange weapons. We're going to start a supers game (300 cp) and i'll create a "Punisher-Paul Kersey-melee" kinda guy and was looking for some civilian bladed weapons. We have axes, machetes, cleavers, and all kinds of blades. verything was fine 'till i came across this: http://www.powertoolsexpert.com/prod...Bill-Hook.html
A bill hook... and suddenly i've catch myself trying to stat this tool... so far i have two ideas: a hatchet or a small ax with that "hook" rule on MA. Am i correct?

I'd just use the sickle from Martial Arts p. 226 - it's a bit generous letting that thing hook, but what the heck, it's not a reality simulation you want it for.

The question is: that small hook can do impaling damage? i've thought that is just to "hook" small branches.
Let's look for the realism simulation a little.

Hatchets and axes can already Hook, and probably better than that thing.

In a realistic game I'd treat it as a Cheap (balance) Small Falchion with a blunt tip.

Sure. It's got a blade about the length of a shortsword, but it's heavy and optimized for cutting rather than thrusting.

If it helps, you can think of it as a blunt tipped Kukri*, because of the concave curve of the blade. :)

*shortsword-sized Kukri use the stats for Falchions, so it's a distinction without a difference.

You're right. Now i've got it! Thanks.

Wait a sec. ive been looking into it. Aesir, usng thebill hook as a falchion, could it be used with the Knife skill? i've saw the size of that and it's just 10 inches.

The pictured product, yes. It's essentially the size of a long knife, so the relevant GURPS skill would likely be Knife.

Also, it's not unheard of to see the bill hook put on the end of a pole, both as an agricultural implement and as a weapon of war. The weaponized polearm versions will occasionally have spikes and points of various kinds added: like this one, or the one in the rack here I'd treat those as pollaxes or halberds as appropriate.

In that case just treat it as a blunt-tipped cheap Kukri. The default version is knife sized and uses the knife skill.

If you want a more realistic version, probably this.
