I am trying to stat up a character who suffers from bouts of amnesia associated with some of their other mental disadvantages (notably beserk).
Initially Amnesia (Selective) [-5] from Space seems to cover it, but Selective Amnesia refers to memories that have been wiped not which are currently-and-for-the-forseeable-future being wiped. I found a solution in running it as 'Temporary Disadvantage, Aftermath: Amnesia (Selective) -2%' further modified (in the same vein as Limited Enhancements B111) by 'Extended Duration, Permament +150%' for a grand total of -5% (or +5% when applied to a disadvantage like Beserk). So that after an ability is used or a disadvantage triggered, the character permamently forgets that period short of magic or advanced brain surgery. However this is neither legal nor particuarly fair, since consitently forgetting the things you have done seems quite dangerous and deeply confusing. Is there a RAW way of replicating what I have been hashing out above? |

What you're modeling is someone who, when Berserk activates, doesn't remember anything from the period while they were Berserk?

Yup, but also generalisable to other disadvantages with self-control-rolls and advantages which require activation.

The nice thing about quirks is that they're SIMPLE...you get one point for a minor disadvantage and you can define it however you like and, as long as it is serious enough to be worth at least one point, you're set. I hope this helps. Mark |

Depending on how you use it, it could be a MASSIVE disadvantage, on par with Cursed, only with a trigger. The kind of things you've done... It would be beautiful for the sadistic GM.
