Should Aerobatics be a mental skill for telekinetic flight?

There's no reason why you shouldn't allow the Aerobatics skill (and the Flight skill) to be based off of IQ for Psionic flight as long as the flight is completely controlled by thought.

GM call but I would still run it off DX as its speed and coordination thing and DX handles that even for mental stuff. Course you could buy extra DX only for mental coordination.

Technically, DX is the right attribute even if all is done by the mind. Other use of TK also ask for DX.
If the GM allow it, it is a Attribute Substitution perk (power up 2 p15). Remember that Power Talent adds to control rolls, and to rolls against the Aerobatics and Flight skills. So, even with a low overall DX, you can be good. Celjabba |

Since Aerobatics is a skill, I would go with the suggestions under Using Skills With Other Attributes B172. If the GM wants to rule that the Psionic flight is completely a matter of thought, then it is appropriate to use IQ instead of DX.
As for the TK reference, the rules for use of TK specifically references DX (and in Psionic Powers offers the ability to modify that with Based on Other Attribute) where the rules for Flight reference the skills (not the controlling attributes of those skills). |
