I played Space 1889 back in the day. This is one where I would (and did!) steal the concept and replace both the game system and almost all the world-building.

I've got Red Sand, and Savage Worlds is a much better game engine than the original. Fits well with the setting, too.
Altho it would be nice to see a GURPS Space:1889 4e book/PDF, tho.

I've avoided Red Sand because I just can't get into Savage Worlds. It's just not my cup of tea. I figure if I ever run S1889 again, I'll probably use Traveller.
I'm really stoked about the miniatures license he mentions. I want a flotilla of aerial, steam-powered gunboats. |
