Hey guy, i was playing super munchkin yesterday when i saw Huge combo, that i didn't know if i could use it....
Like, if i have the THEFT ability: (You may discard a card to try to steal a small item carried by another player) And i have a BIG HAIR too: (Any event that would normally make you discard Big Hair simply returns it to your hand, and you can play it at any time after the end of the turn in which you lost it) Could i keep stealing items from players? 'Cause i could discard Big Hair that he would get back to my hand, then.. ai could discard it again.. Is that right? I understood, PLAY IT (Big Hair rule) as if i could equip it after the end of the turn.. But nothing says about discard it or use it only at the end of the turn... So, i could use this combo 4ever? =D Please help me with that guys~~ Thx! |

Nice try, but no. If you willingly discard Big Hair, you lose it. Big Hair says it returns after any event that makes you discard it, which would not include you saying, "Hey, I'd like to discard this item for my own benefit." You choosing to steal something is not making you discard any Item. You deciding to sell stuff to buy a Level is not making you discard any Item, either. Though, since it has No Value, it'd be weird to sell Big Hair in order to get rid of it, but weird stuff happens in this game all the time. . .
What does make you discard an Item is Bad Stuff and Traps/Curses and the random card which does weird things. Remember what I said about weird stuff? ;-) |

this is a very common phrase in use on this site. So much so that before asking questions like this I apply the rule if it seems to good to be true then it probably is and don't bother asking. While there are some pretty powerful cards nothing I've seen or am aware of allows you to endlessly repeat stuff.

Does the Boomdagger in fantasy Munchkin work the same way?

Yes, the Boomdagger has the same verbage on it regarding returning to your hand.

Well theft ability is not a one shot item. Item being the keyword. Rather it is a class card so I reckon that would stop it. Even if a thief ability was to be used by discarding a one shot item from other threads we could assume if a ruling was asked for that sparkles would not be usable as you did not have to use the one shot item. Using it is a consequence of powering thief ability. Perhaps I'm wrong in that. The other question would be is playing re/loaded die part of trying to get the original discarded card back. If so then perhaps sparkles could not be used. Something else that would need to be ruled on. Sadly the shop didn't have star munchkin left (sold out in previous two days) so I got Bites instead so I'll save those ruling questions for when I get the game and if we can't work out an agreement in the group.
