Can a player keep his "Usable once only" items (in his hand) even if that item wasn't needed. For example, the player already has the levels ALONE to defeat the current Monster in combat, but in addition the player also has "bonus +" cards in his hand at the time. He was contending it's a item that he can carry and not being used.
I just think also for game-sake it's probably not a good idea to show your hand from the beginning..but that's me. This player always builds up his mega character and puts out the "+ bonus" cards (Usuable once only) all out at once. My take is that if you put it out in your hand, regardless of how "powerful" you make your character, you lose the "Usable once only" card whether you needed it or not..no? First, you're confusing "in hand" with "in play." I mention this to forestall any other possible confusion.
Second, you can have as many "usable once only" Items on the table as you want. You are not required to use them until you want to, unless a card effect says otherwise. (I'm stressing Items there because some non-Item cards also say UOO, and they can't be played to the table until they are used.)
