The newest e23 release is GURPS Low-Tech Companion 2: Weapons and Warriors, by Peter Dell'Orto, Dan Howard, and Bill Stoddard. GURPS Low-Tech described lots of weapons and armor, but what if your entire campaign is about fighting – or what if you simply want something a little out of the ordinary? Then have no fear, because Low-Tech Companion 2 is here! Or rather, have lots of fear . . . This supplement kicks off with a brief history of how our ancestors beat, trampled, stabbed, and blew up each other, and then segues into a wide variety of optional rules for arms and armor: tacking on extra bits, varying the materials, scaling things up and down, keeping track of wear and tear, and so on. But it isn't all fun and games for the individual combatant; there are also sections on basic military logistics, fortifications, naval combat, siege towers, truly gigantic cannon, and warships from penteconters to frigates. Whether your thing is tangling rival ninja in the kusari attached to your pronged, hilted sickle or dishing out mass death with the 16 ballistae and four scorpions of the Helepolis of Demetrios Poliorketes, you're sure to find something that meets your needs in this one. When the talk is done

Woohoo!
In a matter of hours, it will be mine! Which is good, as our game has scaled down from Mass Combat resolution back to small adventuring party resolution, but I still need to deal with that army, even though it isn't the focus anymore. Edit: Mine, all mine!

I wonder if it has the solution to my Short Sword vs Long Knife problem. <laugh>

Ordering right now, looking forward to the scaling rules.
EDIT: Look good to me on first glance! Haven't looked at anything else as I don't have time, but it looks like a great book! Thanks! EDIT x2: Wait. No rules for scaling shields?

At last! Great release.
And looking at pages 20-21, my little Norse Giant is starting to smile at GURPS.

Great book! Doesn't have scaling for shields, but I guess I can just use the armor scaling rules for weight and the DB is easy to house rule.
