So I'm planning to GM a Dungeon Fantasy game revolving around a single large city-state where the party has been hired by a foreign army to soften it up for an invasion through terrorism, sabotage, assassination, robbery, espionage and so on.
If you've heard of the sandbox rogue style of campaigns, you know how the game's going to differ from the stereotypical dungeon fantasy game. What I'm interested in is stats and equipment for urban enemies and NPCs, such as work gangs (think a cross between militant dock workers, thugs for hire and gang-bangers), the town watchmen, the merchants, royalty, mercenaries and so on. This is may be more focused on roleplaying, politics, stealth, intrigue and investigation than your stereotypical Dungeon Fantasy campaign. While it's still sort of a TL 3 setting, I plan to make it feel like a TL 4 Renaissance/Enlightenment Europe style setting, with high magic and pulp fiction-ish adventure mixed in. If you have Fantasy-Tech 1, you might have some idea of what combination of magic and technology the city-state has at its disposal. Inspirations: * Code Geass * Sin City * 1920s and 1930s Berlin * The Theif series * Reservior Dogs * Assassin's Creed 2 * Renaissance Florence * Historical Venice Any other advice on how to run this game?
