Default A New Jerusalem supplement?

Ok, I confess my sins: I'm definitely Roman Catholic! :D
If you checked my profile you know I'm a Theology studest, so if you combine the two things you can understand that I'm really interested in a New Jerusalem supplement and I hope it could be something different from "tyrannical Pope-king and his zealots". :P

I'm imaging New Jerusalem as an "Arcadia-like" planet with a government somewhat reminiscent of the 19th century Papal State, but more synodal (and so less autocratical). I'm particulary curious about its army (templars? hospitallers?) and if there are forms of communion and communication between New Jerusalem and eventual jerusalemite "catholic bishops" on Terra Nova.

Well, I hope we can do one eventually. But, they will be getting an army for Blitz, and I can let you know some of what's up (keep in mind, we're correcting timeline and storyline stuff as we do Blitz, so some older info may not be correct anymore, ask away if you have *any* questions). From the "Lances of Destiny" section of the new Blitz book in production (wording not finalized, subject to editing, usual disclaimers, etc):

"All reports indicated that New Jerusalem was an intentionally non-technological theocratic planet, devoted to pastoral work and religious worship. The CEF was wary of religion, knowing it could be a potent tool and a potent enemy, sent the Seventh Fleet with a great number of diplomats with instructions to broach a peaceful arrangement if at all possible. Initial reports indicated things were going well, but it would take time. Then things went quiet, the Fleet missing several check-ins. This is not unusual, but after the fourth missed check-in, the fleet was listed as officially out of communication and missing in action. Twenty scouts were sent to find the fleet, but only one returned, and it did not bring good news. The transmission it was able to receive indicated that the planet was much more dangerous than initially indicated, the Fleet had been destroyed, mutinied, or both, and the remaining loyalists were conducting guerrilla attacks on the planet to keep supplied. The contents of the transmission have been kept top secret to prevent word from reaching the already antsy troops on Caprice."

Somethings were already known, but nevertheless very interesting! :D
So, if the Fleet was partially (or largely?) destroyed the CEF reports weren't very accurate and the "non-technolgical" stance means more "extensively agrarian" than "without advanced military defences". Have they Gears? :P
In the official Heavy Gear timeline did the Orthodox Churches reconcile with the Roman Catholic Church to go together on New Jerusalem or the former are again on Earth?

P.S.
A side-question: Did you think about some forms of "integration" between the RPG line and Blitz? Is it possible in future to have campaign book with both RPG and Blitz scenarios?

Integration is sortof planned-ish....

The thing is, what we need for a wargame and what you need for an RPG are in some cases very different. The old rules gave us tactical stats that weren't overly useful for the RPG, while including RPG stats in Tactical that weren't useful for the wargame.

This wasn't exactly optimal. Changes of scale between Tac and RPG made some things go wonky. The x50 for movement, x10 for damage and we don't know what happens with RoF because no-one ever explained it, just made it worse.

What I want to do is give RPG players information and stats so they can run the RPG with gears without needing maps or miniatures. I would also like to give people the chance to take their characters into larger battles using the Blitz rules. The first I'm fairly certain ca be done and improve play. I am hoping the groundscale factor in Blitz, combined with the fact a lot of Blitz is based on my RPG campaign will help out in the second part.

Ok, not integration, but sort of "scalability" between the two systems. :)

What about his other questions? Everything mentioned was mostly from old suppliments; what kind of teasers can you give us about new material in the new redefined storyline you guys are rewriting? Given the line's title I would assume they have walkers of some site, but maybe a teaser as to what they got at colonial times to build on (terra nova got hard hats, but they're gears look quite different from their ancestor machines)? Thanks buckmaster!

If you visit the dp9 forum http://dp9forum.com/ and hit the DP9 announcements, you'll see the new Caprician walkers.

I'll see what I can update you guys with after we get back from Cal-con.
