Default GURPS Spaceships: Battlestar Galactica

Here's my first attempt at making some ships using Spaceships. I chose to stat out three of the Colonial vessels from Battlestar Galactica as an exercise and test of how close I could get the designs seen in the series.

I set the Colonial TL at 9 with superscience including FTL drives, grav compensation and artificial gravity. I included reactionless drives in this tech base as it seems to fit the way the ships work on screen. No huge thrust drives and the smaller ships like Vipers and Raptors are limited by the duration of their fuel driven power supplies.

Comments, critiques and suggestions are all welcome!

Overall, I'm impressed with the simplicity and elegance of the Spaceships design rules too. This is a a fantastic supplement and I can't wait for further releases.

An excellent start! You are to be commended, but I'd replace the her lasers with a large amount of good ole guns, per the series.

But dang it, now I'm gotta make a baseship...

I get C5 for the control room.

I get $6.48M.

Load is technically 5.9 for with 0.9 or the occupants.

Again my complexity is lower at C4.

Technically a drive cannot go in a core slot, even a reactionless one.

I get $2.213M

Hnd is -4

Cabins add up to 1580 ASV

Max Load is technically 15000 cargo + 10000 hangar + 158 occupants + 1200 steerage cargo.

Thanks for the feedback and comments. I'll check my figures and play with the designs a bit I think. I did make some assumptions about the designs to fit the feel and flavour of the setting and ships rather than following design specs slavishly (hence my use of slower reactionless drives with powerplants that ran out of fuel).

I'll update soon and post some more designs. :)

I'm assuming that these are the stats for the old BSG, though I don't remember Raptors in the original BSG. For the new BSG, you'd need to replace the lasers with EM Mass Drivers/Rail Guns/Gauss Guns for the big ships and possibly even chemically propelled mass drivers for the fighters. The reinvisioned ships use slug-throwers, not laser weapons.
