In Spanish, the literal translation of "Paradise among the Southern Stars" would be "Paraíso entre las Estrellas del Sur" (note the accented i in "Paraíso"). Personally I think "Paraíso en las Estrellas del Sur" ("Paradise in the Southern Stars") would sound better to a native Spanish speaker (=prospective colonist).

I'm not 100% sure about the Portuguese word for Paradise, but I'd bet it is either "Paraiso" or "Paradiso", so a compromise name shouldn't be hard to come by.

That is also correct, but "meridional" is a technical and rather cold word; I wouldn't use it to name a place along with the word "Paradise". In order to attract colonists, I'd use something more suggestive. Hence my example.

What do you think of the euphony of "Paraíso en los cielos del sur"?

Also good, althought personally I like "estrellas" more than "cielo".

Eventually, I guess your colony would be called "Paraiso" by everybody except in official documents and very formal occasions, so . . .
