So, I've been playing around with GURPS, and I remember that MetalStorm made a rather practical idea for their system in the form of the 3GL.
The basic idea is mating a UGL (in this case, the good ol' US 40mm low-pressure) with MetalStorm. How would I stat such a weapon, I know it would need to be the same TL as caseless ammunition and ETC for a start... |

As it happens, Ultra-Tech has an underslung 40mm grenade launcher that uses the stacked shots idea that MetalStorm popularised (again) in the early 2000s (when UT was published).
A five-shot disposable magazine/barrel, RoF 3, Rcl 1, because the shots all leave before the weapon has time to recoil. UT136, UT138

Funnily enough, there was a crazy idea that a worldbuilder and I came up with for a MetalStorm grenade launcher. The basic idea was simple: take the metalstorm concept and fuse it with Unreal 2: The Awakening's multi-round grenade launcher (basically you have several ammo types on a revolving ammo dispenser assembly, the magazine on top is what is being dispensed). Basically, use a revolver-style system to cut down the complexity of the weapon but retaining the multi-mag capability. |

Oh, sorry. Yes, it is - I somehow got the idea you wanted to convert one from 3e to 4e, so I was pointing out that 4e has one already.

It had probably a couple of simple revolving grenade launchers. No Metalstorm revolving GLs.
