When entering a new dungeon via the short portal (Which only allows for Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings to wear headgear in the new dungeon), If you have the Curse Chicken on your head, is it disabled/lost when entering the dungeon if you are not a Dwarf, Gnome or Halfling?

Rules as written, the Chicken is specifically removed if a Curse or Bad Stuff causes you to lose your Headgear. The portal is neither a Bad Stuff or a Curse, so it wouldn't affect the Chicken.

That was from 13 years ago. Rules have changed over the years. Anything that old you can pretty much ignore and wait for a more recent ruling.

I don't have the text for Short Portal. If it explicitly says you lose your headgear, I would assume you would also lose the chicken.

In that case, the chicken will probably stay on your head. It would duck down for the stalactites
