Unlike in Brand-X, wishes can't buy me gold in TFT because demons ain't from Hell.
The wisher would have to know where the big bag of candy was ahead of time.

The exact phrase "adverse to toil" appears in a lot of pre-20th Century literature. It's not strictly conforming modern English, but rather seems to be a jab at the out of fashion nature of the subject here.
