if yes, where/how do I get it?
If not, is the hardback book a complete set of the new rules? |

According to everything I've seen, the release date is June 2019. Look here for more information: https://thefantasytrip.game/products...the-labyrinth/ Second Question: The hardback is the complete rules set.

Melee and Wizard are essentially the same as before. There have been changes to In The Labyrinth; some new Talents and Spells, a new XP system, but even then the changes are minor. It's the same great game, just in a shiny new edition.

(Erm..."Skill Points" aren't actually a thing anymore, except as a mechanism used to create a new character -- they certainly don't have anything to do with an ongoing campaign.) You buy talents and spells with XP now, and the only limitation deriving from IQ is what LEVEL of talent or spell you can buy (that is, if your IQ is 10, you can't buy an IQ 11 talent or spell). The new hardback version of ITL DOES include Advanced Wizard and Advanced Melee (with some changes over the classic versions, and they're actually called "Advanced Combat" and "Advanced Magic" now) in it, so if you have it, you have all the rules currently out there... You CAN pre-order it via Steve Jackson games -- I think that Phil has published a usable link several times over on the "Thank You, Everyone!" thread.
(Edited to add: The new versions of Melee and Wizard are identical to the original versions. Really, the only reason to get them is for the large nifty new heavy-duty counters and the larger hex size maps. But, they're well worth getting for that alone!) We have not yet released the PDFs for sale outside of previous Kickstarter campaigns. As a part of the Decks of Destiny project, on Kickstarter late this month, there will be an option to purchase the PDFs.
Please follow the Warehouse 23 Kickstarter account for notification when the Decks of Destiny campaign goes live: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/warehouse23/created

LOL! the death and unconsciousness numbers are the same as my home campaign has been using! weve also been using fatigue exceeding ST does not kill ya, just makes you unconscious .. probably got quite heretical out in isolation
Dwarves losing their +1 ax/mace .. that however we didnt do .. I had 'balanced' it by giving em base MA 8 and barring them from the Running talent (used Gimli's behaviour in the LotR films as a 'logical proof' justification for that .. like its a real thing LOL) heavy xbow was 15 DX for 1shot/2turns .. I never was super comfy with that, wondered if it wouldnt be better that all crossbows were the same speed, but just needed more muscley guys to cock them .. for quite a while weve been using light ballista (4d6 damage) as a giant's crossbow, that they can fire 1/2turns (obviously they never get enuf DX to do it faster) halflings got nerfed? aww lol .. I know a few exploit loving players who wont like that I drew a buncha prone undead figures for 'Romero' type zombies .. the contagious disease kind that need headshots to destroy, like in most films .. normal damage equal to their ST we reckoned simply broke their spines, ruined their ability to walk and made em into MA 1 'crawlers' is there any rules for heavier, high ST bows? Im really dyin to read them new rules Last edited by mark hill; 04-09-2019 at 12:41 PM. |
