Does anyone have an actual visual demonstration of the Map scales on ITL page 55?
Basic Melee combat hex 4 feet Labrynth map hex 3 yards Village map hex 10 yards Town map hex 30 yards City map hex 100 yards County map hex 300 yards Barony map hex 900 yard Duchy map hex 1.5 miles Province map hex 5 miles I'm looking for an expanding view of something like a fountain in a borough of a city at 4 feet hex area, then a 3 yard hex area, then a 10 yard borough, then a 30 yard hex section of town, then the rest of the city, etc. Just looking at how practical this would all be and need a visual. I don't have the tools to do this yet. If not done yet, any volunteers?

Is this the sort of thing you mean?
Megahex Zoom That has five nested layers of hexes/megahexes. From smallest to largest: Grey, Thin Black, Red, Blue, Thick Black. The ITL section on map scales lists 9 levels, so this image illustrates either the top or bottom half of the list. If the small Grey hexes are Melee Combat Hexes, then the next four up are Labyrinth, Village, Town and City. But if the small Grey hexes are City, then the next four up are County, Barony, Duchy and Province. |

I'll have to play around with it to find out if it works. Firehorse, I think you might be able to sell this to a Book Publisher for their cover art. It is very striking. - John Paul

That makes mapping rather difficult. |

I really like the picture, but is it slightly off? Is it possible to fix it?
I am thinking of the edges that are made up of 4 straight hexes of the level two less than the current. So the big black one is made up of 4 straight red hexes, the blue one is made up of 4 small black line hexes, but at the smallest scale the grey hexes are not aligned to make up 4 straight ones, but instead makes the side out of 5 crooked ones. Maybe it is not geometrically possible to get it to line up properly, but I was just surprised to see a pattern and then it broke down at the lowest scale. |
