Monster abilities when cheating

Not sure if this is covered anywhere else but if you were court cheating can you still use the monsters ability? As in drop bear can you still drop the bear if you cheated when hiring the monster. Or is it when you were caught cheating are all card abilities canceled?

If you are caught cheating, the monster is not hired and cannot use its abilities.
