Default Does Chi Hardened Skin stack with DR from Armor spell?

I always figured it did, but I wanted to make sure for my upcoming Fantasy Japan campaign.

I've created a Chi-based DR, assuming most characters would not be wearing armor in this time period. But, assuming the Armor spell exists, one of my PC's is sure to ask this question! ;)

For that matter would a Chi-based DR ability stack with armor in general? Thanks for any input!

Sure it would, as long as the Chi-based DR doesn't have an Accessibility limitation requiring you to not wear armor.

And remember, anything that doesn't naturally give DR loses DR-granting enchantments after a few penetrations. As for spells that just give a target temporary DR, that's just insurance against being hit by one countermeasure and not the other.

Generally, all DR stacks.

Magic spells specifically don't stack with themselves, so you can't layer a bunch of little Armor spells. But you can stack Armor on top of an item enchanted with Fortify.

See "Combining and Layering Armor" on B286 or Low-Tech 103 for the rules for layering physical armor. Non-physical armor (like the Armor spell or force fields) layers without any DX penalty.

Yes, you can become quite heavily armored this way.

I don't think that would trip it, as the Armor Spell is literally not armor, it's supernatural DR.

If the Chi Based DR was "No Supernatural/Magic DR" than you'd have an issue.

Explicitly in Dungeon Fantasy, DR (Tough Skin, Does Not Stack With Armor) does stack with supernatural and magical sources of DR (for example the Armor spell and Ironskin Amulets)
