Default Ritual Path Magic spells for zero point features?

How would I go about pricing a spell to alter features like changing sex?

Base it on giving them Alternate Form [15], with only the 0 point feature(s) being changed.

That assumes they can change back and forth. What if I want it to be a semi-permanent life style choice?

We follow the rules of Affliction for this: the one Afflicting it decides if the Affliction is under the target's control, or always on. Thus, the Alternate Form would be always on if you want to make it a semi-permanent change.

For the semi-permanent part, either use a terminal condition, or buy a duration longer than you expect your target to live.

Just plugged those numbers in and got over 100 energy. That is obscenely expensive for such a minor spell.

How long a duration did you go for? If you're willing to keep refreshing from time to time, you can go with a shorter duration and just extend as needed.

Re-formatting someone's mind and/or body isn't minor.

For anything "neutral" like that, it'd be subsumed into the Greater Transform Body effect. Contrary to what some are suggesting, there's no need to add Alternate Form. The rules actually caution you not to do that most of the time. Remember, spell modifiers are only used if necessary. Plenty of spells just use an effect or two.

The danger with features is that some are incredibly dangerous to add; e.g., "Feature: Only breathes argon." So the GM has to be cautious to make sure you aren't trying to construct a powerful curse for minimal energy. But changing sex isn't usually in that category.

And when it is, it’s because of reasons that ought to be beyond the scope of pricing the ritual (e.g., when one sex or the other has a serious Social Stigma attached to it).

Okay. I guess I'm still a little to rigid in thinking to easily internalize the rules.
