I have been trying to construct a pixie scholar, a character type seen frequently in video games. These games have an important albiet unusual trope that I don't know how to price. They can always find a safe place to go whenever combat starts, and the monstrers always ignore them. This is reminiscent of the Brotherhood Perk, but that does not incorporate the fact that the fairies do nothing during battle. How much should this advantage cost, if anything.

The easy way to do this might just be for the pixie to use Stealth once stuff starts going down. He ducks behind everybody else and looks for a corner to hide in until it's over. He's small, so he can pull it off, and even if he's spotted, he's running away and too small to be a threat, so monsters will pay attention to the bigger, sword-and-spell-using guys.

Nobody attacks the character, and the character attacks nobody - that sounds like a Seraph of Flowers from In Nomine.
GURPS In Nomine set that ability at 60 points, but that was for 3e... and it appears the price may have been set arbitrarily instead of being worked from existing advantages. (It seems a bit high to me for a defensive ability that's Always On...)

Isn't there a spell in Magic that does something like that? Insignificance or something?

I second the "just use Stealth" option. What could possibly go wrong? ;)

I suspect any cost for this trait will be offset a great deal by the Disadvantage Odious Personal Habit ("Hey! Listen!").
More seriously, a Pixie Haven is probably a highly-limited form of Jumper (the characters function more like summonable Allies), so [20] probably works. As for the problem with carrying books, they could probably store such in their Haven - model this as a limited form of Payload. For point-efficiency, you'll probably want to buy up Lifting Strength with a "Only For Calculating Payload" Limitation, although I'm not certain what would be a fair price here... |
