losing combat

Hi,
I am new here and am not clear on everything that happens on losing a combat and failing to Run Away.
Do you just suffer the Bad Stuff or do you always lose a level when you fail to run away even if it doesn't say that in the Bad Stuff?

Only the bad stuff. If, for some reason the bad stuff can't affect you, you lucked out.
