Alternate Combat Bonuses

I had two quick questions. Thanks for any replies

1) If I am using an item that has +1 Bonus but then says (+4 Against Beards) do it end up being 5 when fighting a monster with beard in its name. Obviously I'm talking about the Razor. I've seen this alternate combat bonuses on other cards and i am wondering if this ruling applies to them all.

2) I have a question about wooden leg from the Booty version. Can i change it's placement from hand to leg whenever I want or does it stay fixed in its position once i decide how I wanna use it?

Just started playing about a month ago. Discovered this game on tabletop. I'm pretty hooked.

It's one bonus or the other, not both. If it were supposed to be an add on bonus, it would say so in the card text, something along the lines of "Against Beards, it's worth an additional +4."

You can change it, just like you could stop using any other Item. As long as you're not in combat, of course. When you're in combat, you can't change which Items you are using, or how you are using them.
