Unfortunately, when I hastily post things while half-listening to a conference call for work I tend to leave stuff out. It all makes sense in my head though, so I'm sure that counts for something. ;)

My point (unclearly made) is that I much prefer a mechanical incentive for ongoing attribute progression over arbitrary prerequisites based on nothing more than a number. In my game, I achieve this by increasing the number of dice required to maintain an appropriate level of challenge for characters as they advance. Using advanced talents like CHEMIST and ALCHEMY should be harder than a basic 3/IQ roll, for example.
