I honestly think that people are underestimating the appeal of bloodsports, especially among the privileged and wealthy classes. I means, MMA and Boxing are very popular, and underground fights are well known illegal attractions for the jaded in places like London and NYC. I imagine that more extreme versions, up to and including death matches, are available for the titillating of the jaded in less developed nations.
