One might go so far as to say that that the whole point of Fantasy Tech was to get the facts
wrong, so checking on them would have been self-defeating.
More seriously, Low Tech involved four different authors doing some fairly serious research and making sure that they had all of their facts and rules coordinated, and then Kromm making sure all 200-some pages we wrote were, in fact, consistent. Fantasy Tech was me making up 30-some pages of completely independent items (Vimanas and Renaissance aircraft make no sense together? They're not supposed to!) with vague gestures in the general direction of history. Vastly easier to write, vastly easier to edit.
