Personally I think it would make more sense that while they lose CorpForces, they retain other Forces as long as their Words are meaningful elsewhere. Thus the Angels of Dinosaur species would still roam the Savannah, guiding their charges - and probably be surprised to notice that they've regained the ability to enter The Marches over the last century and a half.
