The person who told you that was confusing the Infinity setting with the Time Master RPG setting that inspired the Time Corp setting Infinite Worlds has as alternative.
The Time Corp setting involved actual time travel while the Infinity setting does not. The old Time Master RPG setting involved
both and yes that could be as confusing as it sounds.
