8-bore solid conical slub with 1257grains (81g) at 1500fps is about 8d.
Common 10g loads these days seem to be about 50 grams at 1280fps. that's about 5d+1 or so.
The 8-bore slugs seem to have been designed to kill large African game, or possibly T-Rex.
