Does that assumption match the setting? That is, Crackerjakk is right as far as the need to remain low-tech throughout the entire production chain, and not just for the on-site work?
Another complicating factor there is even finding people that have the low-tech skills to do such work. It might not be a bad idea to hide the recreation of such techniques and training as an academic research project -- or the filming of documentaries like "This Old Pyramid" and the other
