Even if it was something like a conventional delivery truck or semi, their cargo compartments are designed to keep the rain off things, not to be a stable platform for heavy battlesuits. They'd buckle and break.

A cloth-topped truck (or even a conventional cargo truck) hardly seems like it would stop infantry from disembarking any time they feel like it, which trucks and hovertrucks do by 8.06.1.
