As nobody's dug up any already published work on the matter, I'd just go with whatever rate seems good to you. You may also want to consider what rate, if any, character can heal whilst still active, though just considering each 6-hour healing period on its own merits would also some healing when out and about (they should get one period of rest/sleep, at least).
