In SS4, the Viking assault carrier is a small version from H Beam Piper's Space Viking story.

And I think the Aliens dropship is the Valkyrie, not the Banshee - TL9, no superscience, "designed to carry a single armored vehicle", 2 missile launchers and a small gun.
