In Nethack, you could bless a normal item (or uncurse a cursed item) by dipping it in holy water, at a cost of the holy water. Also, you could dip a
stack of items, potions of water stacked, and a potion of holy water was a blessed potion of water, so you dip your ten potions of water (acquired by dipping useless potions into fountains) into your one potion of holy water and you now have ten potions of holy water.
