[Low-Tech+LTC2] Inconsistent Falchions

Okay, so Low-Tech gives us the Shortsword, with swing cutting damage and thrust+1 impaling damage, at 2 lbs., with a ST of 8. It also gives us a Falchion, with swing+1 cutting damage and thrust-2 impaling, at 3 lbs, with a ST of 10.

On their own, those are fine, but LTC2 offers the Falchion weapon modification, applicable to any non-Falchion weapon. Applied to a Shortsword, this gives us swing+1 cutting, thrust impaling, with otherwise the same stats as the LT Falchion, for a cost increase of $100 — rather significant when it means adding two points of impaling damage to the weapon!

Is the Falchion modification just not meant to be applied to the Shortsword, or are they meant to represent different classes of weapon? Is the LT Falchion supposed to represent the archetypical Conyer's Falchion, while the LTC2 Falchion represents something like this much pointier falchion?

Re: [Low-Tech+LTC2] Inconsistent Falchions

AFAIK, the GM's choice which to use. In the playtest, I argued to have the stats of Falchions in the weapon tables match those given by the design system, but conformance to prior published stats won out.

I do not find it unbalancing to use the LTC2 version.
