Can munchkin be played as a two player game

My son and I made up rules for a two player game. Are their any official rules.

It's not designed as a two-player game. We used to say it "could" work, but it really isn't designed for it, and we no longer even hint at it.

The House Rules thread in the main Munchkin forum includes several attempts at two-player rules.

I've played enough 2-players games.
Although most to teach players the game.

You really need to help each other at the lower levels for it to work.
And not holding grudges.

Re: Can munchkin be played as a two player game

SJGames does publish some awesome 2-player games. The Stars Are Right works great with two players, as does Burn in Hell (which may or may not be appropriate for your son, maturity-wise), as does SPANC (ditto). Awful Green Things from Outer Space is solely a two-player game. Ogre which is getting a new big box treatment by the end of year, is a classic (mostly) two-player game.
