Hireling question

How many hirelings can you have?
If it is only 1 hireling, can I use cheat to use 2 hirelings?

It is one, and although most Hirelings are not Items, that is a valid use of Cheat!

No, you CAN. He's just clarifying that you CAN do so DESPITE the fact that Cheat! usually only works on Items, and most Hirelings are not Items.

The rules for Hirelings specifically say you can use Cheat! to have an extra one, which is why it is allowed despite most Hirelings not being items.
