Another Wandering Monster Question

I was fighting a Level 6 Lawyer (with plenty to beat him), when a Wandering Monster/Wight Brothers was played against me. I couldn't win, and chose to run from the Wight Brothers first (success) and then the Lawyer (fail). How does this resolve?

You escaped the bad stuff from the Wight Brothers and now must suffer the bad stuff of the lawyer.

Re: Another Wandering Monster Question

Eben forgot that the Wight Brothers have an even if you escape clause.

Here is the correct order of events starting with the point you admit loss of the combat and assuming that you are level 4 or higher and not a Thief:
  1. You choose which monster to roll against first (in your case, Wight Brothers)
  2. You roll the dice to attempt to Run Away from the Wight Brothers and succeed.
  3. You lose 2 levels due to the even if you escape clause of the Wight Brothers.
  4. You roll the dice to attempt to Run Away from the Lawyers and fail.
  5. You suffer the Bad Stuff of the Lawyers, allowing everybody to take a card from your hand and then discard the rest.
  6. Running Away is now over and you can discard the monsters and one-shots used during the battle.

Clipper seems to have the right order of events there. . .
