Silenced

This situation came up in a game my friends and I were playing when we mixed 2 games together. It happened to be Booty and Impossible but could happen in other situations I assume. In Munchkin Impossible the "Silenced" card gives you a bonus for all equipped guns. In Impossible there are cards that say on the bottom if the weapon is a gun or not but in Booty (in regards to our specific game but could be elsewhere) there are cards that are clearly guns (eg. Blunderbuss, Musket etc..) but do not say gun on the bottom of the card. Would these items receive a bonus from "Silenced" as well?

Re: Silenced

This is a tricky one considering cannons on a ship are nautically called "guns".
I am not implying this applies to ships, but things like the cannon item cards in booty.
I guess the real question is where dose the definition of guns in munchkin end?
Is a star munchkin laser a gun? or perhaps the blow gun in munchkin fu?

The Musket weapons in Booty would be consider "guns". It is after all what they are.

The Cheat With Both Hands rules help us out here:

Yea, I figured this cards reach was beyond our comprehension, but I guess anything that is a obviously a firearm is a gun. I feel like the line should be drawn at cannons.

But if you think about it logically a silencer can't really be put on a cannon or a blunderbuss, but then I guess it can't really be put on a musket either. I'm sure someone can figure out how to put one on a blow-gun though.

You have to keep in mind that one of the best things about Munchkin is comedy. I think it's hilarious to imagine a Munchkin screwing a silencer on his blow-gun.

From the comedy perspective I like the idea of screwing a silencer on a cannon.

That's the idea behind Munchkin... the absurd, the weird and totally outrageous. Thus after you load the power and shot, you put on the silencer and the Musket is a black-powder sneak attack.
