Illusion card with Amazon
If a female character draws the Amazon card can they then use the Illusion card to change it to a different monster to fight the monster? Since the Amazon card will not fight females and just hands them treasure we are confused on whether the Amazon card would count as a combat.

Re: Illusion card with Amazon
I would say yes, just as you could play the mate card, and there by get two treasures, one from each amazon, or if you prefer, as in any combat, you technically get choices before the actually battle( or lack thereof) commences. I.E. You Kick in the door, you draw the level 6 Pukatchu, your combats are only say a 4, he doesn't win automatically, you can still play your cards to increase your attack, swap monsters, decrease his attack, escape, etc etc. If it doesn't count as combat, then that would mean after receiving her treasure from the amazon, then the rules say you can go looking for trouble I.E. fight your own monster, or loot the room, if you didn't do combat.

Re: Illusion card with Amazon
The Amazon does not fight female munchkins. Thus, anything you could do to her that is an "in-combat" action fails when there is a female munchkin in the fight. You cannot play a Monster Enhancer on her for more Treasure, you cannot play Mate on her to double the Treasure, and you cannot use Illusion to swap her out for a monster you CAN fight.
If she's fighting a male munchkin and he asks for a female helper, he CAN do any of those things before the female munchkin jumps in. |

No. You encountered a monster.

Thanks! That is what I was thinking as well :)

Re: Illusion card with Amazon
So a female Munchkin would not go up a level?
If not, what if she enlisted the aid of a Male? |
Re: Illusion card with Amazon
The Amazon leaves the combat immediately. A female munchkin CAN'T bring in a male because: a) It doesn't matter, she's still female; b) assuming that the Amazon was the only Monster, there would be no Monster to help against, meaning she can't even ask for help because she's not losing the combat.
Please look back at Andrew's first post in this thread as it's extremely clear on this and I can't really add further to it. |
Re: Illusion card with Amazon
Ok, that is clear. I got mixed up when he talked about a male asking a female for help after modifiers (in my head, not in his wording.) Thanks.
(Sometimes you don't need to be more clear; just being the same amount of clear twice is super helpful to people trying to learn a lot of new information. But I understand this can be frustrating. I sincerely thank you for your considerable help.) |
