Re: [OOC] A Stranger Land

I have been assuming -- for the sake of keeping things moving -- that Martel is keeping her post guarding the almost-rescued captives. Lamech tends to post infrequently so I haven't worried much about it... but it has been a while... so I feel I should ask: Is Martel still with us?

There is a full moon and less tree cover here, so yes, he can see, just not as well as he would like. A shot right now would be at a total -9 modifier for range & visibility.

Quick Draw @ 16 (3d6=9)

ooc: step, quick draw and aim

For future reference it takes two seconds to ready a bow. First round ready the arrow, second round apply tension to the string. After that you can aim or shoot. Quick drawing only shaves a second off. So your whole second should of been devoted to readying the bow.

They do have rules in Martial Arts with cinematics turned on and GM approval you can make a bow-6 roll to apply tension as a free action letting you shoot, or aim, on the same turn you ready the bow; though I think that shot is also at a -6 penalty. Not counting techniques and advantages that may lower it anyway.

Yes, that's what I took it as -- I guess the "aim" part didn't register with me as a 'maneuver'; I suppose I should have picked up on that and clarified. But, yeah, Kiernan doesn't have an "Aim" bonus yet; that would take another round. He can still shoot, of course.

Just a heads up -- I shall be AWOL this coming Friday and Saturday. Assuming I don't do anything rash to the relatives, I'll be back by Sunday.

(Edit: back now, only slightly the worse for wear.)

Can rorik use extra effort to pull himself free?

Being able to All Out (Strong) that check would probably be good yup yup. I'll also try and get others in a better position to help you once every is inside over where they're at.

I allow Extra Effort, and B356 seems to cover this instance nicely.
(One minor exception -- I never allow attribute substitution on skill rolls (it makes me twitch), so I sorta veto the rule at the top of the center column B357... which isn't applicable here anyway, but just so's ya know, ya know?)
